The Charleston Post - Southern Ground Music & Food Festival announces return to Charleston
Zac Brown Band confirmed Thursday afternoon that Southern Ground Music & Food Festival will return to Daniel Island this spring. The weekend-long event will be held April 16-17 at MUSC Health Stadium, formerly known as the Blackbaud Stadium. The lineup of performers so far includes: Tedeschi Trucks Band, Thomas Rhett Marshall Tucker Band, Hunter Hayes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Kacey Musgraves, Sam Bush, Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, A Thousand Horses, Old Dominion, Cam, Packway Handle Band, Drake White and The Big Fire and Muddy Magnolias. Continuing the festival’s tradition, Zac Brown Band will close each night with different collaborative performances featuring other artists on the bill. The event has been held in October since 2011, but didn’t return this fall because officials said that they hoped to push the festival to the spring in an effort to boost attendance.
