Charleston Scene - SGMFF Announces Return to Charleston; Robust Artist Lineup
The weekend-long event will be held April 16-17 at MUSC Health Stadium, formerly known as the Blackbaud Stadium.
The lineup of performers so far includes: Tedeschi Trucks Band, Thomas Rhett, Marshall Tucker Band, Hunter Hayes, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Kacey Musgraves, Sam Bush, Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, A Thousand Horses, Old Dominion, Cam, Packway Handle Band, Drake White and The Big Fire and Muddy Magnolias.
Continuing the festival’s tradition, Zac Brown Band will close each night with different collaborative performances featuring other artists on the bill.
The event has been held in October since 2011, but didn’t return this fall because officials said that they hoped to push the festival to the spring in an effort to boost attendance.
Pre-sale tickets for Zac Brown Band fan club members go on sale at noon Tuesday, and the general sale begins at 10 a.m. Dec. 18 at www.southerngroundfestival.com, www.AXS.com or by phone at 888-929-7849.
Two-day festival passes start at $189, and several VIP packages will be available.
For instance, those who purchase Front Porch Stage Boxes will have on-stage seating and a gourmet meal prepared by a team of renowned chefs working with Southern Ground’s executive chef, Rusty Hamlin. Guests in those boxes are also served complimentary beverages.
